What keeps someone from getting a massage

A lot of people, even males r embarrassed by their bodies, so to let a stranger touch them is very difficult. It gets even harder if they r homophobic.

Personally, I could careless who sees me naked. It is not that I am an exhibitionist. It is just that back when I went to school we had Physical Education & we had communal locker rooms/showers (one for the boys & one for the girls), so we had to get over our embarrassments.

Several years later, when I was 16/17 I had no problem going to nudist camps & getting an all over tan.

Now, I belong to a health club in my area & I got a massage that was given to me for birthday from my wife. It was OK, but I did not think it was that great. I have also tried acupuncture to relieve some of my pain, but after 10 sessions I decided it was a waste of time & money.

Anyway, probably one of the best ways to make ur business grow is through word of mouth, so if u could figure out a way to get ur current clients to get their friends & family to come in & give u a try then ur business would grown.

It is one of the ways my business grew, when I had my video store back in the 80's. Once I started getting some customes coming in they told their friends & neighbors about my store.

You might have to offer them some kind of incentive to pass the word around, but if it works it will pay for itself. You could offer ur current client something like 10% off their next visit for sending u 2 new clients. To kick it off have some special coupons made up that r introductory offers, where the new client would save some percentage & do not forget to put an experation date & that it is not good with any other offers, & then on the other side or even on the same side there could be a spot for referred by: & that is where ur current client would print their name.

Some people have issues with being touched by a stranger or the level of nudity during a massage. Maybe you should offer the option of chair massages first to get them over their fears. I do have to admit, I was at a spa this summer and booked a full body massage and facial and when they told me it was going to be a male, I was a bit nervous. They had to switch me to a woman so it ended up not being an issue, but iI was a little freaked out.

My mom is a massage therapist and I still wo not get them. She is really good but I can not stand being touched by someone like that. I get real paranoid by the fact that I can not see the person. I wo not even let my husband rub my back for the same reason. And I hate the lotions that she uses too.

Some people can not afford it....some are afarid they will get turned on and be embarrassed!
