i'm currently a massage therapy student and im working on a paper and one of my questions is to explain the difference between an effect of massage and an indication for massage. l have looked everywhere online and can find nothing, l have also read my book and none of theare quite clear. please help.

The effect of the massage is what happens to the body when you do the massage. There are mechanical effects, physiological effects, reflexive effects

Your book should explain it and your teacher should be too.

Simply put, an effect of massage would be easing of pain, easing of tension, relaxation.

An indication for a massage would be pain, tension etc. An indication is like a need for something. You have a headache, that is an indication that you need to take some tylenol. The effect of the Tylenol is your headache goes away.
